Night Rider adds more buses
Night Rider adds more buses
It's 2am on a Saturday night in the city and you have got a pocketful of change to get home. Walking home to Eltham just won't cut it and there's a queue for the next taxi. What to do? Looking inside your wallet you see a Metcard. Solution? NightRider!
There have been recent improvements to the NightRider service.
- Buses now run every 30 minutes instead of every hour
- New NightRider now runs to Doncaster, Cranbourne and Healesville
- A new service now runs to the city via Docklands
Whether you want to travel to Eltham, Doncaster, Croydon or Epping, or many other suburbs, there's a NightRider service to get you there. All you need is your Metcard to jump on board. The NightRider buses cost only as much as a standard trip on a Metcard costs. Daily or two hour Metcards validated after 6pm can be used on the NightRider buses until 3am!
For more information visit the Metlink Nightrider website.

Send your mates a Yellow card
Have you ever been in a car with a mate and been freaked out by the way they're driving? Maybe they text and drive at the same time, or maybe they speed or drive when drunk or on drugs. Do you have a friend who does dangerous things with their car, like drag racing or burnouts? If you're worried about the risks your mates are taking with their driving, the TAC has set up a website that lets you let them know you're worried about them by sending them an anonymous video yellow card.
All you have to do is visit Yellow Card T.V and fill in a few details, like your mate's email address, the car they drive, their name and the problem you're worried about. The website will make a personalised video message based on the details you give it and then send it to your friend. Heaps of people know someone who drives dangerously. Yellowcard allows you to send those people a message and hopefully help them to clean up their act. Even though young Victorians between 17 and 25 are only 14% of the people on the road toll, they make up 25% of the annual Victorian road toll. This is your chance to make a difference to those statistics.
For more information visit the Yellow Card T.V website.
