One Saturday the 19 September, there was a festival to celebrate St, Andrews. There were a lot of things to do. People were enjoying the day events of sumo suits, drumming, graffiti art, dance workshops, bands, food and drinks. It was a fun filled day with the help of shuttle buses running from the St. Andrews oval.
The festival was held at Ninks Road where the fires were and it was great to see the green grass growing back again. There were some local bands playing and some drumming. There was also dance workshops were you could learn how to do some dancing. There weren’t just activities for parents; there were rock climbing and sumo suits for the kids as well as painting and kid’s entertainment. It was good for the whole community to get together and tell stories and have fun all day.
I think St. Andrews is defintly starting to heal after the trauma on Black Saturday.
