On Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday most kids enjoyed a fun weekend of the Youth Carnival. There were many activities to participate in and I saw lots of people having a great time. There were holiday programs and excursions coming down from Kinglake to St. Andrews to enjoy the week.
The rock climbing wall was a big favourite and all day you could hear the buzzing of the buzzers that you press when you get to the top of the wall. Everyone gave it a shot even if they were terrified of heights.
The sumo suits were a laugh. Lines of people waiting for a turn, watched sumo wrestlers tumble, fall, squash, back flip all over the place. It was great fun and I know that lots of people were looking forward to that.
The skate ramps were awesome! A number of jumps were set up for people to try with their bikes, scooters and skate boards. I saw a lot of great stunts by kids and also a lot of stacks. But it was good that everyone gave it a shot.
Then there were the skate board lessons. Lot's of kids stepped up to give skate boarding a try. So people were good and some people, tried. I saw lot's of skate boards flying everywhere. The teachers were nice and patient with everyone and made it a lot of fun.
The jumping castle was good fun but probably better for the little kids. There was a little incident when the jumping castle deflated but that didn't stop everyone jumping around, having fun.
After lots of activities, Bridge Builders started up a free barbeque for all the hungry people. I know everyone there had a really great time and I saw the same people turn up day after day so that was good.
Thank you to the people who helped to set up this great carnival and I know it was enjoyed by all and can't wait for it to come up again.
