For Nora Grey romance was not part of the plan. That was until she met Patch. With his dark eyes, easy smile and infinitive knowledge on her, she is drawn to him lacking her better judgement. But after several near death experiences and discovering Patch’s terrifying secret she can’t decide whether to trust him and hold him dear, or to run and hide to save her own sanity. For Nora has fallen into fatal trap, a centuries old fight between those who have fallen and those who have served the fallen, but the wrong choice will cost more than her own life......
While I was excited to read this book and I enjoyed it very much I found that the story line of this book was very similar to a lot of the YA romance books I have read lately. They seem to follow the pattern of a good girl that falls in love with a bad-supernatural- guy (especially after the recent Twilight saga) and -although I do love these kinds of books- I am waiting for a new crowd pleaser that differentiates in more ways than one. The storyline, I found, was quite pleasing with lots of surprises and unexpected choices, although the themes were quite average-trust, loyalty and of course love. Although the main character, Nora, seems too blinded by love, so much so that she still hangs around Patch even though she suspects it to be him involved in a string of life threatening accidents. But after all that I did enjoy it, as it was also humorous at times, I absolutely love the cover and can’t wait for the sequel to Hush, Hush, Crescendo.
