Running time: 30 minutes (two episodes per half hour)
Aired on the Monday 5 September at 4.30pm, T.U.F.F Puppy joins the already wide collection of cartoon shows on Nickelodeon. Created by Butch Hartman, (creator of The Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom), and staring Jerry Tranior, (better known as Spencer on the popular show iCarly) gives viewers young and old a reason to tune in, and its good they did because T.U.F.F Puppy has what it takes to become quite a popular show.
The cartoon is set in the city of Metropolis which is protected by the Spy agency, Turbo Undercover Fighting Force, (T.U.F.F), whose job it is to defend the innocent from the evil Verminious Snaptrap, a rat with a lisp and the leader of the Diabolical Order of Mayhem (D.O.O.M), and any other bad guys who manage to crop up. The story is simple, with the main character Dudley Puppy chosen due to the fact that he is the breed of every dog imaginable (with a small trace of goat).
After losing his chew toy, which happens to land in the lair of Verminious Snaptrap, he defeats all his henchmen before retrieving it (with no realisation who he has just stumbled upon) lets him escape without retrieving the stolen Kruger Rat artefact that has the power to control all the rats in Metropolis when the full moon hits its emerald eyes. After Verminious Snaptrap escapes it is here that Dudley is assigned to the T.U.F.F Spy organisation.
The cartoon is filled with plenty of simple humour and simple yet effective animation that will undoubtedly keep any viewer entertained, and with a main character whose stupidity clashes with his sidekick, Kitty Katswell proves that the show has the potential to become quite popular among fans of nickelodeon. It’s clever and witty and is a pleasure to watch so is defiantly worth a look.
