Cars flooded the streets of Eltham. All the traffic jams lined up to the same one place: Alistair Knox Park.
The Eltham Festival has basically become a tradition for the popular town, with everyone from near and far gathering to share the fun!
As usual I joined in the entertainment! I wandered around with my two friends and we had a ball! Firstly we hit the luck ‘n’ chance games. The clowns, bingo, lucky fishes and many more! Then: the rides!!! The thrilling rush of adrenaline that runs down your spine when you spin around on the Cha-Cha is exhilarating. You can see everything from the top of the Ferris wheel and being with friends makes it so much fun!
A trip to the fair isn’t complete without a taste of Mr Whippy’s glorious cold ice-cream and remember to pick up some cheap fairy-floss from the local scout group. The price started at $2 but by 11:30am it had lowered down to 50c! Affordable sugar!
We visited the many stalls and got an experience of the brilliant local products and produce Nillumbik has to offer.
We paid a visit to the Guide Dogs Australia stall to make a small donation to support them. We also bought ribbons to support Women’s Rights and The Bushfire foundation.
It was an extremely hot day, temperature at a sweltering 32 degrees, but no one really noticed the heat as everyone had fun and caught up with friends.
The Eltham Festival is held every year and you can learn more at: Eltham Rotary website.
