Ok, if you can't stand sad movies or chick flicks then I suggest you steer clear away from My Sister's Keeper. I was crying for at least half of the whole film but that was what made it so intriguing.

At the young age of three, Kate Fitzgerald was diagnosed with Leukemia. Her parents (Sara and Brian) are devastated by this news and seek advice from there doctor who tells them that for Kate to stay alive a donor with a genetic match needs to give her blood and other organs. Their eldest son (Jesse) is not a match to Kate so the doctor suggests another child. Months later Anna Fitzgerald is brought into the world and at only six days old starts to give blood to her sick sister.

11 years later Kate's condition continues to get worse and the only way to save her is for Anna to donate one of her kidneys. Anna is sick of going through the tough procedures and operations so she seeks the help of Attorney Campbell Alexander and decides to sue her parents for medical emancipation and the rights of her own body. Anna may seem selfish at first but she has an extremely good reason for acting in that way.

This film is mainly broken up into flashbacks narrated by different characters as to show their perspective on life. A brilliant performance by Cameron Diaz and Sofia Vassilieva made this film perfect and a mention to Abigail Breslin is needed as well. All were superb in this film.

Even though it was so depressing it was one of the best movies I have ever seen! The emotions are so powerful in this film that everyone will be affected by the characters and the storyline. Five star quality!
